DETAILS:

  • Shirt – polo style (with collar) long or short sleeve, finished bottom edge with hem, 2 or 3 buttons, may not be tight fitting, collar must be worn in the down position.  Only school approved logos from Stitch-N-Time or Bridgeside Marina can be added to the shirts. 
  • Pants/Shorts/Skirts/shorts – Tan khaki color (not green or olive green).  Pant length must be below the ankle, but not “dragging” on the ground.  The length of girls shorts/skirts/skorts may be no more than 2” above the knee crease
  • Belt –MUST be worn if the waistband is visible.
  • Hoods are not allowed – and may not be worn on dress down days.

GENERAL NOTES:

  • Shirts may be worn in or out.  The length of the shirt must meet the JPPSS dress code found in Procedures and Policy manual. (i.e. cannot cover shorts if worn with shorts).  The shirts/pants will NOT have any visible tags, logos, names, emblems or any kind printed, stenciled, or embroidered.  Undergarments cannot be visible through the uniform.
  • Shoes and socks must meet the JPPSS Procedures and Policy manual. No specific color shoe is required. A student will not wear shoes that present a safety hazard such as shoes without backs, shoes with excessively high heels or platform soles, wheels, or shoes that by virtue of their construction or condition may pose a safety risk
  • Pants must fit, not oversized, no wide legs and no pockets, loops, slits, cuts, or holes on pant legs.  No drawstrings.  No jogging/sweat/fleece styles.  Pants must be hemmed.
  • Undershirts:  must be plain white, worn under uniform shirt (short sleeve undershirts may NOT stick out at uniform sleeves or bottom of uniform shirt), will NOT have collar, no writing, pictures/designs or embroidery, buttons, zippers, snaps.  
  • Winter wear: Grand Isle School sweatshirts may be worn.  The uniform shirt collar must be visible – that is - worn outside the collar of the sweatshirt/sweater.  No other sweatshirt is permitted.  Jackets and/or sweaters that button or zip from top to bottom that are plain (without any visible names, logos, pockets, zippers, buttons and NO HOODS may be worn. Jackets must have sleeves, must zip, button, snap, velcro, completely from top to bottomNO VESTS MAY BE WORN.  ONCE INSIDE BUILDINGS, JACKETS MUST BE OPEN, top to bottom.

 

Uniform Violations may result in disciplinary action.
